Manhattan, Kansas, often competes with large metro areas like Dallas or Chicago for talent. Post-pandemic, talent recruitment has become more competitive than ever before due to the increase in remote positions that allow people to live and work from wherever they want. For these reasons, the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce needed an effective tool to help recruit top talent to Manhattan.
After surveying numerous community members and conducting focus groups with top employers, we developed “Made for Manhattan” — a welcoming and inclusive, yet energetic brand that can resonate with people of all ages and backgrounds. The site and supporting promotional materials put real Manhattanites at the center so that prospective employees can be introduced to the community as if they’ve already moved there. The Made for Manhattan initiative now serves as the go-to recruitment tool for Manhattan.
