Salina Family Healthcare Center

Helping Kansans get vaccinated

Salina Family Healthcare Center (SFHC) is a community health center providing comprehensive, integrated primary care services in Salina, KS. When COVID-19 vaccinations were released, SFHC was responsible for administering them in Saline County. SFHC needed to schedule about 500 vaccinations per week over the phone, and they quickly realized that they would have to find an alternative method due to lack of staff and time.

Develop a reliable, HIPPA-compliant, and easy-to-use online vaccine scheduling tool

Our team created a custom scheduling workflow that fit seamlessly into SFHC’s existing processes and met HIPPA standards. When an individual became eligible for the vaccine, they received an email with a unique ID. This ID gave them access to the vaccine scheduling form and eliminated the chance of inaccurate signups from those not yet eligible for the vaccine.

SFHC Vaccine Scheduling Tool

By quickly creating an online scheduling solution, SFHC was able to demonstrate their leadership and commitment to providing extraordinary care for all community members. This innovative approach to online vaccine scheduling launched before many other online schedulers were being used around the state and helped reduce SFHC’s workload and meet scheduling demands.

“We estimate that the scheduling solution reduced our outgoing COVID-19 vaccination scheduling calls by approximately 70% over the first three weeks,” said Hayley Samford, Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator at SFHC. “What previously took the work of four or more full-time staff members is now a streamlined process that saves roughly $975 per week.”
